A self-care retreat for women, femmes, trans women, and non-binary fems who need a good old fashioned sob fest!
May 18-21, 2023at the Whidbey Institute
READ MORE ABOUT CAMP (this will take you the Therapy Godmothers Website)
Pack your baggage for a long weekend away from your daily commitments at a truly magical retreat center on Whidbey Island.  Take up space, be mad, be sad, express that rage you’ve been carrying around.  Crying is not required at Cry Camp, but the more tears, the more merit badges…just sayin’.

Structured loosely around the format of summer camp, together we’ll explore the power of community (yes, even you introverts will have a place!), the magic of being in nature, the impact of creativity, and some emotional science-y things that we think are pretty cool.

Let it all out: Cry camp will host 16 campers and 2 cry counselors for a 3 night/ 4 day weekend on Whidbey Island in Washington State. We are taking you back to the glory days of summer camp while creating a magical space to explore the deepest parts of being an emotional being. We'll laugh, we'll cry, and we'll do it all here:
  • Delicious food from the (Emotional) Mess Hall
  • Crafts created by your Cry Counselors
  • Photographed portraits of raw emotions
  • Campfire stories and games like "2 Tears and  Lie"
  • A new community of friends and sobbers

Camp will be co-hosted by Therapy Godmothers and all tickets and information will be sold there. Use the buttons to continue learning more about camp!

Cry Camp will be held at the glorious Whidbey Institute on Whidbey Island.

Getting to Whidbey Island is an easy 15-minute ferry ride from the landing in Mukilteo. Once you arrive on the island in Clinton, driving to the Institute only takes about 15 minutes! Please let us know if you’d like to chat with other Cry Campers about potentially carpooling.

Because a lot of our time together in April will be indoors, it is a requirement of our host camp that only fully vaccinated Campers attend.

Accommodations for Cry Camp are in the Cabin Village.  All bedding and linens are provided for your weekend, but please bring your coziest blanket, favorite teddy bear or your life saving pillow to make it feel even better.

If you would like to share a room, tickets are available for a 2 bed cabin. Bring a friend, or make a new one and save a little moolah!

Meals will be made on site with love in the Emotional Mess Hall by Chef Kristen and Gina. All of your food preferences and allergies are tended to and you’ll enjoy some of the most delicious meals you’ve ever had. We swear! 9 meals are included in the ticket price, and food is sourced from the land itself, and local Whidbey Farmers. This isn't the sloppy joes and macaroni you remember. We promise these meals will be one of your favorite memories from camp!

Maximum capacity for Cry Camp May 2023 is capped at 15 campers, so snag your bed now and start the process of releasing some of that sorrow and anger we know you’ve been holding onto. We truly believe that laughter can be some of the best medicine, so bring some stretchy pants (and a panty liner) because we’re about to laugh until we cry…or is the other way around?
